In April 2017, we welcomed Dale Pollak, Founder of vAuto and Executive Vice President of Cox Automotive. His inspiring lecture centered around the idea of entrepreneurial spirit: the power of personal dedication, a good idea, and staying two paces ahead at all times.

Pollak's career began at his family business, a car dealership. He foresaw, however, that the future of car purchasing lies not in brick and mortar lots but with technology. He had the idea to use the newly minted "internet" to expedite advertising his inventory online. This idea and "a few lines of code" had far bigger repercussions in the auto industry than he could have ever imagined.

The journey was not always that easy. Pollak described numerous roadblocks from other's rejecting his ideas to personal disabilities, but at every complaint, he emphasized perseverance. He achieved his biggest success, vAuto, through mentorship and keeping an open mind to change.

After this inspiring lecture, TAMID members had the opportunity to ask questions and delve deeper into the mind of this incredible entrepreneur.
